With nothing but determination and a vision, this dynamic duo founded Mr. Fancy Candy, a confectionery business that has grown into a beloved brand, delivering sweetness across Australia.
Humble Beginnings
The story of Mr. Fancy Candy began in the most unexpected place—a small bedroom in Khoda and Christina's home. As the world grappled with lockdowns, the couple seized the moment to turn their passion into a reality. What started as a small-scale operation quickly expanded, taking over their entire house as demand for their unique, handcrafted treats grew.
Recognising the need for more space, Khoda and Christina moved their expanding business into a self-storage unit, a modest step that marked the beginning of their expansion. But the growth didn't stop there. Before long, they found themselves operating out of three additional storage units, each filled with the sweet fruits of their labor.
A Big Move and Bigger Dreams
By 2022, it became clear that Mr. Fancy Candy had outgrown its storage unit beginnings. The couple made the bold decision to move into a larger facility, consolidating their operations under one roof. This move was more than just a logistical upgrade; it was a testament to how far they had come. With this new space, Khoda and Christina were able to fully realise their dream of crafting their own sweet treats while continuing to import exotic candies from around the globe.
Today, Mr. Fancy Candy is known for delivering a diverse range of confectionery delights across Australia, bringing joy to countless homes with every delivery.
The People Behind the Brand
Christina, a chef by trade, brought her culinary expertise and entrepreneurial spirit to Mr. Fancy Candy. Before launching this venture, she ran Hanna's Fitness Meals, one of Australia's first fresh, not frozen, meal prep businesses. Hanna's Fitness Meals was a trailblazer, delivering nutritious meals across Sydney. However, like many businesses, it faced significant challenges during the COVID-19 lockdowns, leading to a downturn. But Christina's spirit remained unbroken. She saw an opportunity in adversity and, together with Khoda, embarked on a new journey.
Khoda, who had been a dedicated carer for both of his parents, also faced hardships during the pandemic, losing his job and grappling with the financial and health challenges of his family. Despite receiving no government support, Khoda's work ethic and determination never wavered. He and Christina pooled their savings, invested in their side hustles, and put everything they had into establishing Mr. Fancy Candy.

Throughout their journey, both Khoda and Christina were blessed with the unwavering support of their parents, who stood by them as their number one supporters.
